# Doom Font: What the Logo Uses + Free Lookalikes

## Short answer

The Doom logo is custom lettering, not a font you can install.

The sources say this indirectly: Bethesda's Slayers Club says illustrator Don Ivan Punchatz painted the DOOM (1993) box art and also designed the DOOM logo.

## What the Lettering Looks Like

Heavy, angular block capitals: the D and M stretch outward with pointed lower ends that frame two squared-off Os, giving a forward-thrusting shape; the 1993 version is rendered as textured metal in perspective.
