# Pokémon Font: What the Logo Uses + Free Lookalikes

## Short answer

The Pokémon logo is custom lettering, not a font you can install.

IGN interview (2025): designer Chris Maple of Media Design, hired by Nintendo of America in 1998, drew the Western Pokémon logo by hand.

## What the Lettering Looks Like

Fat, bouncy yellow letters with a thick blue outline, swelling and shrinking along a gentle arch, with an accent over the e.
